Blu Media helps to produce DTLA

Blu Media, the company who runs Broke Straight Boys and several other gay porn sites, has stepped into the world of mainstream media. Blu Media has joined forces with director Larry Kennar, who has previously helped to produce 50 First Dates and the L Word and a couple of other directors. Together they have produced DTLA (Down Town Los Angeles). CEO Mark Erickson says: “Last year I helped to produce a new gay scripted drama called DTLA. We have also written a straight Broke Straight Boys model right into the script.”
The TV serie, which can be best described as a gay scripted drama series that is mixture of “Queer As Folk” and “Swingers” will be aired on OutTV Canada starting April 23, 2012. It is expected that the show will come to the USA in fall 2012. In the show, we will follow a group of friends in Downtown Los Angeles as they deal with the breakup of boyfriends Lenny (Darryl Stephens) and Bryan (Matthew Stephen Herrick).
The ensemble cast includes Marshelle Fair (Painting in the Rain), Ernest Pierce (Lincoln Height), Patrick McDonald of (Drop Dead Diva), Hiro Tanaka (Tokyo run of Rent), Scott Pretty (Super 8), JC Jones (Glee) and Ryan Izay (Max’s Big Day).
The series also stars Danny Roberts (MTV’s Real World), Erin Daniels (The L Word), Tiffany Pollard (VH1’s I Love New York), TV/Radio personality B. Scott, Luenell (Borat), Julie Goldman (Big Gay Sketch), William McNamara (Doing Time On Maple Drive) and Leslie Jordan (Will & Grace).
